Food on Fridays: Waiting

For the Food on Fridays carnival, any post remotely related to food is welcome—though we love to try new dishes, your post doesn’t have to be a recipe. We’re pretty relaxed over here, and stories and photos are as welcome as menus and recipes. When your Food on Fridays contribution is ready, just grab the button to include with your post. It ties us together visually. Then fill in the boxes of this linky tool to join the fun!

Food on Fridays with Ann

The handle broke. The motor stopped. The almond butter production came to a screeching halt as the small KitchenAid food processor fell apart.

I have to wait to satisfy my almond butter craving.

And I hate to tell you, but those who read part one of my Writing Life “Beginnings” piece will have to wait, too, to find out what happened next. Tweetspeak Poetry picked up part one as a reprint to publish today (Friday, September 13). Part two will go live at their site a week after that.

Sorry, Ann. Terrible to hear that the Kitchen Aid broke. Yikes!

Oh, it’s frustrating to have something supposedly well made (and relatively new and not overused) break so completely, but it’s a “First World problem,” as they say, and I’m not grieving. It’s been a nice luxury item. I think I will mention to KitchenAid what happened, so that they can know about the weaknesses in their product, but I didn’t mean this to come off as whining. 🙂

Congratulations on your piece being featured by Tweetspeak – that’s lovely! I’m very sorry to hear about your KitchenAid though!! Thank you for hosting the linky. I’ve shared a Banana Date Cake with Walnut and Honey Glaze. Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks, April! Oh, I’ll find another way to make almond butter. That’s fine.

You always make the most scrumptious things that make me want to brew a pot of tea and sit with a friend for a nice long chat…nibbling slices of your delicious quick bread or cake.

Congratulations on the Tweetspeak feature, Ann! I hope you will give us a ‘heads up’ when your post goes live. I was really looking forward to your next instalment.

Sorry about the processor… I hope you were able to find a way to finish that batch. Immersion blender, maybe?

I don’t think the immersion blender could handle this job, but maybe a regular blender…and I do have one of those. I’ll experiment. If not, I have lots of almond meal I can use for baking!

Those almonds are tough. I broke the teeth in a hand grinder trying to chop some up for cookies at one time.
    Sorry about your food processor!

I may have just been asking too much of the poor little machine. 🙂

I was doing some experimentation and made a bit of a blunder… Would you happen to know how to do a redirect page from my old blog address that points to the new address? Oopsy……
