For the Food on Fridays carnival, any post remotely related to food is welcome—though we love to try new dishes, your post doesn’t have to be a recipe. We’re pretty relaxed over here, and stories and photos are as welcome as menus and recipes. When your Food on Fridays contribution is ready, just grab the button to include with your post. It ties us together visually. Then fill in the boxes of this linky tool to join the fun!

Food on Fridays with Ann
For a quick dinner the other day, I pulled out the electric wok and made veggie stir fry, dicing a few bits of leftover chicken for my husband.
As I was tossing the snow peas, carrots, broccoli, red pepper and mushrooms, I suddenly decided to throw together a sauce to go with it. A quick search online led me to a recipe at Food.com. The sauce was easy to make and delicious, so I recommend it. (Unfortunately, I won’t be able to eat it again due to an allergic reaction. I suspect the ginger.)
Served with some rice, this was a fast, delicious, filling and healthy meal. And, as with so many things I like to prepare, it’s flexible. Toss in your favorite veggies and bits of meat, add a sauce of choice, or leave it plain. Serve with rice or noodles.

I’m so sorry you had an allergic reaction to the sauce, and especially if it was ginger that caused it as I’ve shared a recipe this week for Spicy Pumpkin Bundt Cake that contains a whole tablespoon of the stuff! Your stir fry looks delicious. Thank you for hosting and have a lovely weekend!
Thank you for your sweet note, April. This whole allergy thing has been so interesting–and a little discouraging. But more than anything, I’d like to isolate the trouble and just stay away from all of it.
Thanks for joining up with the Bundt Cake! I can make things for others to share, so I still love getting a variety of recipes!
Yumm, sounds and looks delicious. Sorry if the ginger was the culprit. Ginger is supposed to be very good for you. Good for the heart I am told. I am glad you are being thoughtful to slip in some meat for your husband. Be sure your children are getting enough protein too, as they are growing.
Thanks for your reminder, Hazel! But don’t worry…the kids eat plenty of meat. If anything, they are the one who need to eat more veggies!
I’m trying to make mondays meatless and I’m so thrilled to see your post. Spectacular photo Ann! I’m going to try and pin this!
