Corporate Writing
My degree in English from Indiana University with an emphasis in creative writing provided the perfect background in communication while developing confident writing, editing and critical thinking skills–all essential to my work as an effective corporate writer. Working for years as a freelance writer in the Indianapolis area has provided outstanding opportunities to build on that background and create a career as a creative, professional copywriter.
As a corporate writer, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects in a number of industries. At times I’m brought in early in the process to help clients determine exactly what they need before I research, plan, write and sign off on final edits. Other times I’m asked to proof, rewrite, edit or completely overhaul existing materials, providing a professional, cohesive tone that ties together disparate pieces.
I can provide the text for an entire newsletter, or one short e-zine article. I’m happy to write press releases or advertisements. I can edit a book or a blog.
When words matter–and when don’t they matter?–professional writing can make all the difference.
I find that my natural curiosity and love of learning has also contributed to my success in this career. I’m interested in the work of every company, individual or team of professionals, helping them best express who they are, roll out a new product, or simply to introduce their work to the world in a website or brochure–regardless of the size or scope of a project, I’m up for the challenge.
I’ve written for such companies as:
- Allison Transmission
- The Ball Corporation
- IUPUI
- REI Real Estate Services
- Clarian West Medical Center
- Estridge
- Overlook Hospital
- Hoosier Tradewinds
- Visiting Nurse Service
- Grace Community Church (Noblesville, IN)
Corporate writing can involve many different kinds of projects.
Some clients may need something as simple as help with a letter that requires delicate wording. I can write that on their behalf.
Others might need a 200-page website or ghost-writing help with their corporate blog. I can do that, too.
Every company has its own unique communication needs; I’m here to provide professional writing services that offer a unique voice throughout materials such as:
- Brochures
- Newsletters
- Manuals
- Advertisements
- Advertorials
- Websites
- Blogs
- Scripts
- Feature articles
When working with clients, I think of it as an informal partnership of sorts–sometimes lasting only for the duration of the project; and other times lasting for years, as I serve as a company’s voice.
Clients of all sizes have learned that the professional skills of a freelance corporate writer are exactly what they need to meet a pressing deadline or plan a multi-faceted project.
Let me know how I can help.
