Happy Birthday
One of our daughters has a December birthday. A week ago we celebrated with signage and candles and cake and presents. When her party was over, I started to tear down the streamers, but for the first time in 14 years I paused before pulling down the “Happy Birthday” banner and thought, you know, we could just leave it up.
It’s a little cheesy, I suppose, but a good reminder.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isaiah 9:6).
Happy birthday, Jesus.
And thank you.

Good idea! We used to make a Happy Birthday, Jesus cake when the kids were little.
Hope all the December birthdays at your house are blessed.
That was a wonderful idea. Actually we should all be putting up Happy Birthday banners.
Have a blessed day.
Very true. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I Love it! Make it a tradition to keep it up for Christmas!
My husband put lights up all over our yard, but we only had a very small artificial tree that I set up on top of our not being used pellet stove. I had a card table with treats and on it a pretty basket with artificial poincettas, with very small colored foil gifts tied on the poincettas. On our dinner table my very red reusable plastic Christmas table cloth.
While our family arrived – - My computer sets in our kitchen, and I had opened it to my husbands blog with the picture of a big cake that said “Happy Birthday Jesus.”
We enjoyed our family and they stayed several hours, now they are gone and it is quiet and we are at peace. Merry Christmas even for a few more days! Joy is ours in Christ.
Cheesy, no, no.
I always hear about people throwing birthday celebrations for Jesus or making cakes. I love the thought behind those actions, but you know what? I always get too busy caught up in other less important preparations, and the cake becomes forgotten.
