Food on Fridays: Dining Out in FL

(alternative button below)

Here at the Food on Fridays carnival, any post remotely related to food is welcome. Just share a recipe for hush puppies, explain how you make sweet tea, or tell us a big fish story (I just finished Old Man and the Sea).

In other words, the Food on Fridays parameters are not at all narrow. I think of it as a virtual pitch-in where everyone brings something to share; even if the content of one item is unrelated to the rest, we sample it all anyway and have a great time.

When your Food on Fridays contribution is ready, just grab the broccoli button (the big one above or the new smaller option at the bottom) to paste at the top of your post and join us through Mr. Linky.

Here’s a Mr. Linky tutorial:

(I think Mr. Linky is working, but I’m unable to log on and check. If it’s still having technical difficulties, leave your link in the comments and be sure to visit other people’s sites from there):

Write up a post, publish, then return here and click on Mr. Linky below. A screen will pop up where you can type in your blog name and paste in the url to your own Food on Fridays post (give us the exact link to your Food on Fridays page, not just the link to your blog).

You can also visit other people’s posts by clicking on Mr. Linky and then clicking participants’ names–you should be taken straight to their posts.

Food on Fridays with Ann

*Chomp-chomp-chomp*

Well, hello there!

I’m a little distracted at the moment by authentic southern sweet tea and a platter of fried seafood that’s been recently plucked from the Gulf of Mexico.

I didn’t mean to ignore y’all this week. Honest.

It’s just that I ended up in a place with no Internet connection.

We headed south from landlocked Indiana to see if we could find a large body of salt water where we could camp.

We found both the campground and the large body of salt water … but no WiFi.

This was our only eat-out. Otherwise it’s been a lot of PB&J.

I’m enjoying the simplicity of this low-tech vacation, but I’m looking forward to reconnecting.

Enjoy Food on Fridays, my friends!

I think I could give up an internet connection for a few days for a view like that!

There is nothing like really, really fresh seafood. Enjoy!

    4. Halala Mama says:

And the water looks pretty good too – I’m not sure which is better, the fresh seafood or being near the water it came from. Enjoy your vacation!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I am so happy for you and your beautiful destination!!

This is too funny to me to read this post. Just this morning, at 3am when I found myself totally awake, I was thinking about an Aloha question. I am not participating very often, but I do think of a question every week still. I choose to give Aloha Friday up because of time restraints. In anycase, My question would have been:

Do you like camping? Then I was thinking, tent, trailer/motorhome, hotel/motel, cabin, houseboat. What is camping really? It depends on the person. I was even thinking about camping at the beach and how I would love that!! And here you are posting about it!! Awesome!!

I pray that the Lord blesses you and your continually. I am happy that you are posting here and helping me along on my earthly journey. Thanks for all you do for me and others in Blogland.

      Hugs……………………………

    7. I have no idea where you are, but if you are within an hours drive of Seaside, FL, you NEED to go to Modica Market and pick up a Key Lime Pie. They are out of this world and I”m not lyin’! We usually stay in San Destin or in Panama City but either way it’s worth the drive to eat one of those pies unlike any other! Just go, trust me!

What a beautiful place! And that seafood looks delish.

      Enjoy your vacation, Ann! :)

    9. What a magnificent spot, we can taste the tea Ann!
